Dear Subscriber First Name,

Around this time last year, I wrote to you about the Art of the Bloom. Perhaps it’s the spring here in LA or this particular season of my life, but my mind ruminates the topic of growth yet again.

Growth is both what I strive for and what I grapple with. Each new gleaning of self awareness represents both a step forward and a faltering as I consider what I need to address, unlearn, and rework to get to that next “level”.

The tension that growth represents fascinates me… the ambition and discontent that often come before. The discomfort of impatience for progress juxtaposed with the excitement of a feeling and knowing that it’s only a matter of time until a breakthrough. The quiet confidence that builds with each 1% turn you make to your routines.

What does it mean to reach our fullest potential? What does it look like, feel like?

As my vision for this life crystallizes, so too, does my appreciation for the experiences and learnings that got me here. So too, does my hunger to know myself even better, to turn over every stone in my being and bring to light potential I’ve kept hidden.

I believe we all have that potential—that magic. If you, too, resonate with what I’ve described in this letter, I’d like to share a quote by Anaïs Nin that often comes to mind during these periods of growth:

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
