Dear Subscriber First Name, This Women’s History Month, AsianBossGirl’s focus is the concept of woman’s legacy, both through the lenses of career and of life in general. When it comes to career, lately I’ve been mulling over the question, “how will I create a career that feels truly fulfilling?” That question can also be rewritten as, “how can I best help others through my work?” We spend the majority of our waking hours participating in the thing called “work”. It may sound like luxury to some, but I truly believe that we can and deserve to have a career that, simply put, feels good and puts food on the table and supports your financial health. As a child of immigrants, I learned a very specific definition of work—how much time it should take up, how rest is often shunted to the side in the fight to survive, and how easily we can associate our worth to our productivity. Now, as an adult, I am working to unlearn these definitions in order to redefine my own, and in doing so, reshape my mindset and expand the possibilities. This issue is dedicated to readers who believe that it’s possible to craft a fulfilling life, to those who could use gentle inspiration, and to those who help us along the way. Let this be your reminder that you have immense value, and you bring more to the table than you perhaps realize. Let this be your green light to go get it. Set the plan, set it in motion.
