Dear Subscriber First Name, Happy 2023! As the saying goes, “new year, new me”. But let’s be honest. That’s not really true. We can change our hair color, up our fitness, move cities, but we’re all starting from the same place—where we are, as we are. Starting from here has value. What you’ve learned, the skills you’ve honed, and the perspective you’ve gained continue to develop as you continue to grow. And yes, you’re growing—even when you don’t feel like you are. In a society that’s deeply outcome-driven, with childhood learnings to aim for certain markers of success, it’s easy to feel “behind”. To help me reframe my outlook, I’m practicing focusing on process vs. outcome. I’ve found that zooming in on the process keeps my focus so present, micro, and—most importantly—consistent that when I zoom out, the acknowledgement of progress is inevitable. E.g. each day, I get to show up for myself on my yoga mat, and do something that elevates my energy. It’s already been a few months since I started regularly practicing yoga and that’s kind of wild! As you look at the year ahead, one question to consider is how you’d like to show up for yourself everyday. How you do it is up to you! It could be as small as stretching for a few minutes mid-day, meditating for 5 minutes, or enjoying your morning coffee by the window instead of in front of the computer. To a new year,
