Hey Subscriber First Name,

August is ending, and the end of another summer in the Northern hemisphere is nearing. Is it possible to feel nostalgia for a time that has yet to pass?

Before you jump into the flurry of the start of school, interview season, and pre-holiday workflows or job-hunting (however they take form in this “new normal”), we encourage you to create a moment of pause for yourself.

Get outdoors. Draw. Sing. Dance. Meditate. Cook. Dream. Sleep.

As the season shifts, do whatever it is that helps you feel alive and connected to your values. With renewed energy and fresh perspective, consider what would help make this state of transition easier, softer on you.

Which habits, thought processes, relationships, and energy will you bring with you into the rest of the year? And, which would you like to let go of?

Hugs,
Haemee

If you’ve ever had Korean food, you know that banchan (side dishes) are a central part of the dining experience. To accompany home-cooked meals, I’ve been upping the ante and making my own banchan.

One of my favorites, oi muchim, is essentially a pickled spicy cucumber salad. Making oi muchim requires minimal effort and is great for both novices and experienced home chefs alike. Enjoy it with rice, noodles, or by itself!
