Hey Subscriber First Name, How have you been caring for your spirit lately? Between the overturn of Roe v. Wade, the mass shooting on Independence Day, and talks of a recession, recent events have made already challenging times feel all the heavier. In an effort to balance out the weight, I’ve been thinking about fun, and how to have more of it. Merriam-Webster defines “fun” as “what provides amusement or enjoyment”. So, rephrasing my initial question, what are your sources of amusement and enjoyment lately? Think of something that brought a spark to your eyes, and made your heart beat faster. Sometimes it looks like seeing the world through your children’s eyes or sitting quietly with a riveting book. Sometimes it looks like trying to learn how to surf and royally sucking, yet having a grand time. Fun is underrated. Pay attention to what you find fun, and when you feel joy. These sources will help skew your perspective towards the positive, providing the boost necessary to weather hardship on a personal level, and stay rooted in times of macro change. The next time you “self-care” and fill your own cup, add a healthy dose of fun—however you define it. Your inner child and current self will thank you. ❤️ Just for funsies,
